This is the home for a biography project with the working title Jerry’s Story being written by Danny R. Faught. The subject of the biography is Gerald M. (Jerry) Weinberg.
While I ponder when and whether to find a publisher, you can find installments of the biography linked here. The first three flow from some of the first stories I acquired from Jerry:
The later installments represent a more thorough exploration of Jerry’s story:
- The Roles of Jerry Weinberg
- Early Jobs
- More Early Jobs
- The Student (Early Years)
- In Memoriam
- Competitive Eating–Permission to Make a Mess
- Jerry, The Student (Undergrad Years)
- Jerry at Berkeley
- Computer Jobs in the 1950s
- The Rise of the Tabulators
Now that Jerry is no longer here to share his stories, I’m reaching out to people who knew him to help tell the story. I’m especially looking for people who interacted with him when he was still actively doing programming, and also anyone who partnered with him as a consultant or was one of his clients. I’d also like to collect pictures of Jerry. The best way to reach me is on Mastodon or LinkedIn.
